I am having this same problem. If I double click database1 which I find in the easy invoice 8 folder, it works. If I try to run easy invoice 8 the normal way, I get "cant find database file .... etc". Can someone help with this please

Recovering a backup file to replace a damaged file or accidental deleting of needed records is easy:

1) Locate the Easy Invoicing Backup folder - you will see 1 or more dated sub folders which represent recent backups.
Drag and drop the most recent database file across into the Easy Invoicing 8 folder. Replacing the existing file.

2) When asked.. you want to move and replace your file.

That should get you up and running again.

This forum entry explains how to move a backed up file:

I have tried that but no change.
Would reinstalling maybe work? Maybe on an alternative pc so as its a fresh install?
If so, do I use a new unlock code or my original?
Thanks

You can download and install a new copy from our web site:

http://www.easyinvoicing.co.uk/downloadassistant.php

When you have installed and set up the application, please email to me the 'Activation Code' generated by the database - this can be found in the 'Environment and Settings' area under the 'Backup and Register' tab.

The code is usually made up of 4 or 5 numbers followed by 2 letters.

There seem to be 2 types of file. 1 is a Microsoft access file which is present in my old backups. The other is Microsoft ACCDE database which is not present in my old backups. Is this maybe relevant? Do you think this is fixable?

I received the 1st email and said I would like desktop assistance. I haven't yet received the new one. I can zip my database to you if that would help? Or I am happy to have remote assistance?

Hi,

Please zip and send your database that you need restoring and I will check the file for integrity, then send it back to you as a patch which should install the file to the correct location:
