Multi license and inventory questions.
« on: November 15, 2016, 01:31:59 AM »
Hello Guys,

Have been looking at a small business software and looks like this ticks the boxes, however as always there questions:

1)- Is data backed on to my own computer or is there a backup server?

2)- If our business has three users on their own computers, can we buy three licenses and share the same database ?

3)- Is there a way to keep a track of inventory ? (eg we have a stock of 10 units, we input current stock of 10 and each invoice generated with a sold unit stock gets automatically subtracted ?)

And to confirm, license fees are once off or per every 12mnth cycle ?

Thanks in advance.
Vladimir

Hi Vladimir,

In answer to your questions:

1) You can specify where the backup copies are made.  It can be either your local machine or an external drive or USB memory stick.

2) Easy Invoicing 8 is not multi-user but Easy Invoicing 9 is. see:
http://www.easyinvoicing.co.uk/description_ei_9.php

3) These are invoicing systems not stock control.  Easy Invoicing 9 provides a sales report that lists stock items sold and how many but it does not keep a running total of stock on hand.

4) License is a one off payment - there are no ongoing fees or charges.

Garry.

Thank you for for your reply.

I understand everything but need to clear up on the Easy 9 and it's multi-user functionality.

If we have backup folder on drop-box for example, does software refresh automatically or only when prompted to do so? To avoid duplicate invoices.

Also how do we link two licenses to one backup location since its for one/same company?

Hi,

The program is in two parts: the front end (user interface) and the back end (datafile).

On a local network, the datafile can be placed in a shared folder and each front end copy on each computer would link to the same data folder in the shared folder.

This is similar for a DropBox folder but only one user at a time can access the data file because DropBox locks files which are in use.

The backup file is exclusively a backup in case of a problem with the program or the computer and is not the shared data file.

The program has a built in help file which explains how sharing the data works and this can be viewed by pressing F1 on your keyboard.

You can try the whole setup before purchasing to check that it works for your requirements:
