Using Easy Invoicing on a second computer
« on: November 09, 2015, 10:53:17 AM »
I want to be able to use the Easy Invoicing 8 on a second computer therefore linking all the data together, however this is proving rather difficult and we are not having much help for the help desk.  We are not able to talk on the phone (after many request via email) and the advice they have given us isnt working.

Can anyone please advices..

Easy Invoicing 8 is not a networkable product.

Easy Invoicing 9 is networkable and accessible via multiple workstations.

The facility to move or link data is built into Easy Invoicing 9.

How would you go about this on EI9 and would you need to purchase a second copy or just use the one purchased already?

Thank you kindly,

Easy Invoicing 9 is multi-user and you can use it with several computers that are on the same network.

You will need to move the data file (ei_data.mdb) into a shared folder that each computer on the network can see.

1) Start by creating a shared folder that each computer can see (usually on a server or a computer designated as a server).

2) On the main Easy Invoicing 9 copy you should use the 'Move' option in 'Settings' > 'Backup & Data' to move the data file to your Shared Folder.

3) On all the other copies of Easy Invoicing 9 you would use the 'Link' button in Settings to link those copes to the shared data file.

There is a built in Help file which can be access by pressing F1 on your keyboard while the program is running which has more information about sharing the data.
